Special dialog for copy & paste
For more information about the copy & paste behaviour see the Integration Manual. Besides that, the editor's drag & drop behaviour can be mapped to one of these options, which are also described within the Integration Manual. Keyboard shortcuts for all editor functions The editor comes with default keyboard shortcuts (e.g. Ctrl+B, Ctrl+U, Ctrl+I), which can easily be replaced by custom keyboard shortcuts (e.g. Ctrl+L, Ctrl+H) through a corresponding "action id" entry in the configuration file uiconfig.xml further enhancing productivity of your authors/users. Insert hyperlinks, bookmarks and images RealObjects edit-on Pro makes it easy for non-technical users with no knowledge of HTML to create and update rich web content. Quickly and straightforward links from text or images to web pages (hyperlinks) or another place in the same document (bookmarks) can be made.
Automatic hyperlink conversion as you type When typing for example "www.yourcompany.com" edit-on Pro will recognize this as a valid URL and will insert a hyperlink automatically. Insert Symbol Dialog has an "Additional Symbols" tab for custom symbols Besides the default symbols in the "Insert Symbol" dialog, the integrator/developer can also define additional symbols through the editor's configuration file. Those will then be available to the users through the "Additional Symbols" tab within the dialog. Text highlighting (background-color) Users can easily highlight text through background colors. If you do not want to let users apply colors, remove the button and train them to apply style classes instead. The users can choose from a palette of "Standard Colors" or define "Custom Colors". When "Standard Colors" are enabled, an enhanced color dialog will be shown when clicking on "More Colors", allowing users to specify colors by moving the cursor around on a spectrum or by entering red, green and blue values. The integrator/developer can even overwrite the entire color dialog. Strikethrough text This optional functionality can be used to show text of a document that has been abandoned, but still making it possible to see what it originally was. Using CSS and a custom button enables tags to be wrapped around the selected tags. Via the style sheet the integrator can define the strikethrough style. Enhanced image support Using the alignment option text can be wrapped around images. The standard options allow the user to resize images while the aspect ratio can be maintained. Advanced options enable the modification of the image's attributes. This can also be done using the tree view dialog. In addition, images can be visually resized using the mouse. The visual resizing can be enabled/disabled by the integrator/developer. Enhanced table editing RealObjects edit-on Pro comes with a completely redesigned implementation, including:
User can not only insert tables on-the-fly, but also dynamically modify existing table structures by adding, deleting or formatting table cells, rows or columns; including ROWSPAN/COLSPAN and VALIGN. Syntax highlighting in the Source View Syntax highlighting significantly eases source code editing when the "Source View" tab is enabled by the integrator/developer. In combination with the search and replace function users will be able to quickly do source code modifications without loosing track. While the source view is available to the users, syntax highlighting can also be disabled through the editor's configuration file. Autosave function The Autosave function will automatically save a backup file of the content you are working on. If your computer crashes or in case the HTTP connection to your server is interrupted while working on the content, you will lose all the work completed since the last time you saved your work. edit-on Pro will create a back up file of any content on the client machine at a scheduled time. The timing of these scheduled backups in the Autosave function can be set by the integrator. For more information please review also our Support FAQ "Does edit-on Pro have an Autosave function?" Enhanced color dialog Users can easily change the text colors or highlight text through background colors. Possibility to add custom drop-down boxes to the user interface RealObjects edit-on Pro allows you to integrate customized drop-downs, which can be defined through the editor's UI configuration file. |
