============================================================================= edit-on(R) Pro Ext. for TYPO3 by RealObjects Version 2.2, 2008-02-28 ============================================================================= The RealObjects edit-on Pro 5 Typo3 Extension allows you to optionally use RealObjects' WYSIWYG XHTML/XML editor edit-on Pro 5 as a replacement for the TYPO3 default Rich Text Editor (RTE). As a Java Applet, edit-on Pro 5 runs cross-platform and provides functions such as spell checker, search and replace, redo and undo, insert symbols, select colors etc. In contrast to the default TYPO3 RTE, it offers a greater feature set and more convenient user interface, which is fully customizable in terms of toolbar, pull down menu, shortcuts, look and feel etc. RealObjects edit-on Pro 5 is a commercial cross-platform WYSIWYG XHTML/XML editor as a Java applet, allowing individuals and teams to update, create, and publish web content to any Internet or Intranet site. It empowers non-technical users to become content contributors without knowing HTML, XML or other cryptic markup languages. IMPORTANT: The edit-on Pro 5 TYPO3 Extension is free while installing/using edit-on Pro 5 is optional. If edit-on Pro is not installed, any other editor available in the TYPO3 backend will be used for editing, thus the edit-on Pro 5 TYPO3 extension will function even if edit-on Pro 5 is not installed. In order to use edit-on Pro 5 within the free extension in a TYPO3 production environment, you have to purchase an appropriate edit-on Pro 5 license. For more information please see the edit-on Pro 5 Licensing Terms and Conditions. You can request an edit-on Pro 5 evaluation version at http://www.realobjects.com/Request_Trial.454.0.html or purchase a license from http://www.realobjects.com/Buy_Upgrade.738.0.html. Release History --------------- 2.2 : Service release of edit-on Pro TYPO3 Extension (Version 2.2) * Inserting images using the "Insert Image" dialog is no longer limited to "magic" images, plain images can now also be inserted from the fileadmin. Inserting an image as a plain image will not result in a reference to a cached copy of the image that was inserted. * New configuration option: externalJS. The externalJS TypoScript property allows you to specify an external JavaScript file which can contain additional functions and JavaScript code used for custom actions for example. 2.1.3 : Service release of edit-on Pro TYPO3 Extension (Version 2.1) * Added "hiddenloading" parameter which determines if the editor should be visible while it is loading. * Some special characters such as "ä", "ö", "ü" are now directly visible as characters instead of entities in the page content overview in the backend. 2.0.2 : First service release of edit-on Pro TYPO3 Extension (Version 2.0) * The extension is now backwards compatible regarding edit-on Pro 4 and can now be used with this version of the editor. * Content caching can now be enabled using the TypoScript setting "cachecontents".
