Multimedia support RealObjects edit-on Pro new multimedia support allows you to easily include multimedia objects including Macromedia Flash, video and audio formats within your content. A wealth of configuration options enable the authors to determine how the multimedia objects are displayed in the editor's canvas and the browser. The editor can be configured in such way that the multimedia objects are automatically uploaded using WebDAV when the document is saved on a Web server. The upload via HTTP is also possible.
Automatic image upload
For example users can "copy and paste" or "drag and drop" images from a local hard drive or website to the editor. They can even draw graphics (e.g. using MS Word) and paste or drop them into the editor. When saving the document users will have the possibility to rename each image file and sort the images into the determined WebDAV server directory while the file path of the images will automatically be converted from the original source to the WebDAV server during the automatic image upload process. For more information see also WebDAV protocol support.
Optional caching and loading of editor's content, when back and forth button within browser is used Because of the new content caching feature, unsaved content won't be lost, when going back and forth in browser. Now a corresponding prompt appears, which ask you for restoring the previously content. By clicking "OK", the content will be restored properly.
Block-level and inline styles support
The styles drop-down menu indicates paragraph styles with the "¶"symbol and inline styles with the "a" symbol. Selecting a ¶ style will apply a style to the current paragraph while selecting an a style will only apply the style to a text selection. For more information see also Support of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). User preferences are automatically saved and restored on the client (or can be get/set) User preferences (custom colors, spell checker, table settings etc.) are automatically saved and restored on the client, or can be get/set. Thus, enabling the users to easily resume content authoring with their personal settings at a later time.
Spelling checker dictionaries are automatically cached on the client The editor's spell checker dictionaries will be automatically cached on the client machine upon using them the first time. Thus significantly reducing the loading time during any subsequent use. Automatic internationalization of UI RealObjects edit-on Pro automatically adopts the UI language (English, German, French or Spanish) of the browser. This will enable most users to work within a familiar environment. The editor also comes with a corresponding API method in order to enforce a particular UI language, which can also be set using the editor's Personalization feature.
