Saarbrücken After months of hard work, RealObjects has finally released Ver. 2.0 of its WYSIWYG HTML Rich-Text-Editor Applet edit-on Pro. The applet provides the familiar editing/formatting functionality that users expect from WYSIWYG HTML or word processing editors - across platforms, without installation of client-side software. It offers all basic formatting options such as: bold, italic, underline, colors, fonts, and it allows you to insert text, images, controls and hyperlinks.

Like most current word processors, edit-on Pro also features a spell checker with 5 dictionaries, namely American/British English, German, French and Spanish. Furthermore, the editor provides flexible editing of simple HTML tables. Not only can the user insert tables on the fly, but also dynamically modify existing table structures by adding, deleting or formatting table cells, rows or columns. The main enhancements in Ver. 2.0 are:

• Simple HTML <TABLE> support
• Anchor/bookmark support
• Enhanced XHTML support/compliance
• Support HTML <H1> to <H6>
• XML based configuration of toolbar
• XML based localization of UI Strings
• Enhanced import respectively copy/paste functionality for plain text and HTML Tooltips
• Custom button functionality, i.e. create own toolbar
• buttons/functionality to open e.g. a HTML page, execute a JavaScript function or an own Java class or upload images to a Web server.
• Digitally signed JAR file. So, the copy/paste functionality (within the WYSIWYG view) via system clipboard is not limited to IE anymore.
• Additional dictionaries: French and Spanish
