Saarbrücken and London RealObjects, international market leader in cross-platform web content authoring solutions, and Limehouse Software, a market-leading software development agency for the public, education and not-for-profit sectors in the UK, have become OEM partners.
Using RealObjects' proven edit-on Pro technology, Limehouse will now deliver advanced in-browser word processing capabilities as a key new component of the Limehouse Publisher project management and publishing system, which specialises in the production of long and complex strategic documents.
The integration of RealObjects' WYSIWYG XHTML/XML editor edit-on Pro into Limehouse Publisher enables contributors and approvers to quickly and easily create and modify document fragment in a WYSIWYG mode by using common web browsers. The fragments created using the RealObjects editor are then assembled into the final document by Limehouse Publisher. This simplifies the overall publishing process, reduces costs and increases the productivity of authors.
"After thoroughly looking at other vendors providing similar technology, we found RealObjects' solution provided the level of features our clients need to author their content (including table support, spell checker and full-screen editing) in a familiar user interface. As we supply local government (where standards support is key), the ability to verify the content against the XHTML DTD was vital." Said Colin Mackenzie, Managing Director, Limehouse Software.
"The adherence to standards in the XML created by the editor ensures that the powerful XSLT and XSL-FO publishing features of Limehouse Publisher work every time, allowing our customers to produce complex plans to a high level of design and consistency. We chose to work with edit-on Pro because we could easily integrate the editor into our own solution and customise it to add specific features and XML elements required by our customers. Our developers managed to integrate the editor to our solution remarkably quickly and, with a little help from RealObjects' support, we managed to create advanced customisations including a cross-fragment link manager ... " Colin added.
"With Limehouse Software as an OEM Partner, RealObjects continues to strengthen its position in the UK market. This partnership further demonstrates the superior range of functions, features, reliability and quality of edit-on Pro, reflecting our desire to establish it as the standard content authoring solution within a wide range of sectors and industries." Said RealObjects Co-Founder and Managing Director Michael Jung.
