PDFreactor Licensing Terms and Conditions

Grant of License

The CPU License allows the use of PDFreactor on 1 (one) physical or virtual machine in an Intranet/Extranet, or over an Internet installation with non-anonymous or anonymous users. The use is limited to the number of CPU/Core licenses bought with/for PDFreactor. Absent a purchase of additional CPU/Core rights, PDFreactor may be used only on the licensed physical or virtual machine containing up to 2 (two) CPUs/Cores*. One CPU/Core license is required for each CPU/Core of the machine running your application/system which embeds PDFreactor. Licenses for additional CPUs/Cores can be bought from RealObjects. It does not matter how PDFreactor is technically separated from your application/system. Regardless of where or how PDFreactor is loaded, all CPUs/Cores that serve the application/system which embeds PDFreactor must be licensed. A CPU License includes access for an unlimited number of users to connect from either inside the corporate local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), or outside the firewall.

The CPU License allows you to utilize the Software as all or part of an Application Service Provider (ASP) service offering whereby you provide web-based software and hosting of that software for use by third parties for a fee or free-of-charge. However, you are not permitted to use the CPU License of the Software as part of your ASP service in order to offer XML/XHTML/HTML + CSS printing functionality, which substantially duplicates the functionality of the Software. PDFreactor functionality as part of any kind of ASP offering is only permitted as long as the PDFreactor functionality remains an inferior functionality as part of a superior ASP feature set and/or service.

OEMs that wish to include RealObjects PDFreactor in their products and services that are subsequently resold, require a special license and are welcome to contact us.

The 1-Year Support & Maintenance Pack entitles you to receive priority technical support and all maintenance releases or updates or upgrades for the duration of the support period. It is available at the time of purchase of a license or upgrade at the cost of 20% of the software license fee. You can renew the 1-Year Support & Maintenance Pack until the end of the subscription period. The cost of renewing is 20% of the software license fee on the renewal date.

RealObjects will provide you with an unlock key which enables the use of the PDFreactor software license. The information contained in the unlock key will include among others the type of license and the number of licensed CPUs. You might also have to provide the names of the machine on which PDFreactor will be installed. RealObjects further reserves the right to introduce and use appropriate license enforcement techniques in PDFreactor, which are designed to prevent illegal use or distribution. The license enforcement techniques might require the activation of the PDFreactor software license. This may require establishing a temporary network connection to a RealObjects web service. RealObjects reserves all rights to modify the license enforcement techniques used in PDFreactor at any time.
